Lesley Gets First Win at Eagles Expense, 3-1
Steven Monteiro (Shelton, Conn.), James Boursiquot (N. Quincy, Mass.) and
Zach Rocha (New Bedford, Mass.) all notched single scores and Imad Elkatrib
(N. Quincy, Mass.) notched eight saves as Lesley University downed Daniel
Webster, 3-1 in the inaugural game for the Lesley program Monday afternoon
at Daniel Webster.
Monteiro made program history knocking home a Gherry Etienne feed on a
partial breakaway 21:20 into the match. Boursiquot later upped the lead to
2-0 in the 51st minute off a Phil Lund (Mililani, Haw.) setup.
Daniel Webster (0-3) cut the lead in half as Kieran Thorne (Nashua, N.H.)
beat Elkatrib between the legs off a nifty Ben Sisco (Hubbardston, Mass.)
pass 57 seconds later. But Rocha answered with 9:09 to play, heading in a
Sam Mead (Worthing, England) pass for the 3-1 final.
Both teams finished closely matched with Lesley earning a 15-13 shots
advantage.
Craig Van Tuyl (Buffalo, N.Y.) made five saves for the Eagles, who are off
until September 17th when they host Albertus Magnus in a GNAC matchup
beginning at 2:00 p.m.
