Norwich Sweeps Eagles

Nashua – The Daniel Webster softball team dropped a GNAC doubleheader to Norwich Tuesday, falling 12-0 and 13-1.

Norwich served as the home team at Eagle Field as the teams’ original meeting in Northfield, Vt. was postponed and moved to DWC.

In the opener, Jazmin Stevens went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI and Mackenzie Pratt tossed a two-hit shutout striking out four. Norwich put up single runs in the first, second and third and broke the game open with a nine-run fourth.

Amanda Varricchio and Kristine Reiger registered the Eagle hits. Erin Moseley (2-5) took the loss.

In the nightcap, Codi Collins was 4 for 4 with 4 RBI and Seanna Ellsworth homered to center as the Cadets scored four in the first and five in the fifth on the way to a 13-1 win.

Emily Bean posted the win, scattering six hits over fine innings, striking out three and walking four. Sarah Mason (0-4) took the loss.

Rachel Schelhorn had two of the six Eagle hits and knocked in the lone run.

The Eagles are off until Friday when they host Pine Manor in a GNAC doubleheader at 2:00 p.m.
