Mustangs Sweep Past Eagles, 3-0

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Freshman Amanda Pereira (New Bedford, Mass./New
Bedford) tallied nine kills and 12 digs, as the Mount Ida College women's
volleyball team breezed to a 3-0 (30-15, 30-8, 30-12) win over
non-conference foe Daniel Webster College this afternoon at the Mount Ida
Athletic Center.
The Mustangs received a boost from senior Adrienne Xenos (Brockton,
Mass./Brockton) , who collected nine kills and five service aces. Freshman
Brianne Cobb (New Bedford, Mass./New Bedford) added 11 digs, while sophomore
Stephanie Saito (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) and senior Kristyn Correia
(Westport, Mass./Durfee) dished out 19 and 12 assists, respectively.
Daniel Webster was led by senior Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass./Sterling),
who recorded seven kills, five digs and two aces. Sophomore Amy Ingvertson
(Cornwall, Conn./Housatonic) chipped in with five digs and three assists for
the Eagles.
Mount Ida (13-7, 7-0 NAC) will be in action again on Tuesday, as it visits
Emerson College for a non-conference match at 6:00 p.m. Daniel Webster (5-6,
4-2 GNAC) returns to the court on Wednesday, when it hosts Elms College for
an out-of-league tilt beginning at 7:00 p.m.
