Chagan Earns GNAC Rookie Of The Week
Accolades
Nashua - Freshman shooting guard Joyce Chagan of Boothbay, Maine has been
named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week. The award
was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
Chagan helped guide the Eagles to a 2-0 week, averaging 17 points, 8.5
rebounds, 4.0 assists and shot 54-percent from the field (15-28). She
notched 15 points, going 7-of-15 from the field and pulled down seven
rebounds, including five on the offensive glass in a 57-54 road victory at
New England College December 6th.
Chagan continued her hot hand recording a double double of 19 points, 10
boards, and added seven assists, a block and a steal in a 74-54 victory at
Newbury December 8th.
Through eight games, Chagan is averaging 9.9 points per game (second on the
team), along with 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and is shooting 41.7-percent
from the field.
5-3 overall under the direction of first year Head Coach Heather Jacobs, the
Eagles return to action January 10th when they host future New England
Collegiate Conference rival Bay Path College at 6:00 p.m.
