Moseley's Amazing Week Results In GNAC Player Accolades

Nashua - Senior center Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The announcement was made by the conference office.

Moseley helped the Eagles to a 2-1 record last week, averaging an eye-catching 28.6 points per game along with 10.0 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.67 steals. She shot 62-percent overall from the field (36-58) and was 68-percent from the free throw line (13-19). In the process, she also became just the third Eagle in program history to reach the 1,200 career point plateau.

Moseley opened the week knocking down a game and season-high 26 points, going 10 of 20 from the field and 6 of 9 from the line in a 76-65 loss at Mount Ida this past Tuesday, but followed with her best performance of the season, a 33-point outburst in an 82-65 home victory over Lyndon State Thursday night. In the victory, Moseley sizzled from the floor, knocking down 14 of 17 shots, and went 4 of 5 from the line. She added six rebounds and three blocks in the effort.

Moseley continued to pour it on this past Saturday as the Eagles topped Pine Manor, 69-59. Moseley notched a double double of 27 points (12-21 fg, 3-5 ft) and 15 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass and added two blocks. Her 27th point served as the milestone as it pushed her to 1,200 points for her career. The victory was just the second all time for the Eagles against the Gators spanning a series of 14 games.

Unrelated to the weekly honor, Moseley continued the hot hand Monday night, hitting the eventual game winning basket with 16 seconds to play in a 41-40 victory at St. Joseph’s College of Connecticut.

Moseley currently leads the squad in scoring average (15.9 ppg), rebounding (8.4), blocks (1.71), field goal shooting (49%) and stands second in steals (1.64).

9-5 overall and 2-2 in GNAC play under first year Head Coach Heather Jacobs, the Eagles are off to their best start after 14 games in program history.

DWC returns to action Wednesday, January 23rd as they host Emerson in another GNAC matchup. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
