Emmanuel Upends Eagles In GNAC Opener

Boston, MA – The Emmanuel College Women’s Basketball Team cruised to an
80-26 win over visiting Daniel Webster College in Saturday’s Great Northeast
Athletic Conference (GNAC) opening game.
The Saints (7-4, 1-0 GNAC) were led by seniors Maura Mooney (Essex Junction,
VT) and Jacque Pannell (Bloomfield, CT), who combined for 21 points on 9 for
12 shooting. Senior guard Brittany Bushman (Portsmouth, NH) hit 4 of 5
attempts from the floor and notched 9 points in the win.
The Saints out-rebounded the Eagles by a margin of 33 (64-31), led by senior
Sara Long (Oakland, NJ) and rookie forward Meredith Shaw (Yarmouth, ME),
each hauling in 7 boards. Emmanuel’s defense forced 42 Daniel Webster
turnovers and the Saints capitalized, scoring 42 points off the Eagles’
errors.
Daniel Webster (6-4, 0-1 GNAC) was led by freshman guard Joyce Chagan’s
(Boothbay, ME) 7 points. Senior center Erin Moseley (Sterling, MA) added 6
points and a team-high 8 rebounds in the effort.
