Moseley Nearly Perfect As Eagles Sting Hornets, 82-65

Moseley's 33 points fell just three short of her career high.

Nashua - Senior Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) connected on 14 of 17 from the field leading to a game high 33 points and newcomer Joyce Chagan (Boothbay, Maine) netted 17 leading host Daniel Webster past Lyndon State, 82-65 in regional women’s basketball action Thursday night.

Moseley added six rebounds and three blocks, while Ashley Boyd (Hanson, Mass.) picked up 10 points and eight boards as the Eagles (7-5) halted a two game skid.

Jennifer White (Danville, Vt.) led the Hornets (8-5) with 18 points and nine rebounds, while Whitney Hoyt (Shaftsbury, Vt.) added 16 points and Jackie Wetzel (Braintree, Mass.) chipped in with 12.

The Eagles sizzled in the first half, shooting a season best 65%, going 15 of 23 from the floor, building a 42-31 halftime lead. Despite cooling to 42% in the second, the Eagles maintained control throughout after trailing early in the first.

Nicole Conley (Hinesburg, Vt.) chipped in with eight points for the Eagles, while Brianna DeSeignora (Medford, Mass.) and Alyssa Regan (Salem, N.H.) added seven.

DeSeignora followed with a layup as part of a 7-0 spurt and a 20-13 edge and the lead would grow to as many as 15 in the first, culminating in a buzzer beating three pointer by Conley.

Moseley, meanwhile remained a force inside. After going 6 for 7 from the field in the first half, she opened the second with a successive jumpers to open up a 14-point lead and added another layup with 11:47 left creating a 21-point advantage and the Eagles never let the Hornets closer than 13 the rest of the way.
