Moseley Goes Out On Top As Eagles Fall In Finale
 

Moseley finishes as the all time program leader in points, field goals and blocks.

Nashua – Needing 18 points in her final collegiate outing to become the Daniel Webster women’s basketball all time scoring leader, senior Erin Moseley reached the top of the mountain and then some.

Moseley knocked down a game high 25 points and added 13 rebounds including career point 1,405 to surpass Sheryl Arduino ’01 who set the previous record in 2001 to steal the show and take a bit of the sting out of a 70-57 loss to Lasell in the season finale for both clubs Saturday at Vagge Gymnasium.

Shauna Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) led the Lasers, who finished 8-17 overall (5-8 GNAC) with 24 points and added seven rebounds and seven steals, Carla Zinno (Middlebury, Conn.) added 13 points, and Shauntell Jeter (Brighton, Mass.) added 10 points.

Lauren Picozzi (Coventy, R.I), playing in her final collegiate game for Lasell, also added nine points, while fellow senior Christina DeLuca (Johnson, R.I.) closed her career with six points.
 

Ashley Boyd (Hanson, Mass.) reached double figures for the Eagles with 12 points and added seven rebounds, while Briana DeSeignora (Medfield, Mass.) notched seven points.
 

Shea retires as the all time Eagles leader in assists.

Sarah Shea (Quincy, Mass.) also added four points, four rebounds and two steals in her final collegiate contest for the Eagles.

Lasell took control early, building a 30-11 lead over the first 13 minutes of the contest before a late Eagle rally pulled DWC within seven at 36-29 at the half.

A Boyd layup cut the lead to 37-31 with 17:13 to play, but Lasell took advantage of a cold stretch of Eagle shooting and put together a 14-0 run keyed by back-to-back three pointers from Zinno that opened up a 20-point lead.

Moseley’s record breaker came on a layup with 8:49 to play off a DeSeignora pass bringing the game to a brief halt as the gymnasium rose to recognize the historic moment.

Moseley capped her career with 1,412 total points with a career average of 15.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. She finished as the seventh player in Great Northeast Athletic Conference history to reach 1,400 points and her 820 total rebounds placed her third all time at DWC and 11th in the GNAC.

Defensively, Moseley’s 141 blocks is first in Eagle history and fifth in the GNAC. She also retires as the all time program leader in total field goals and second in total free throws.

Shea finished her career as the program all time assists leader with 266, 7th all time in career points with 753, third in total three pointers with 97, 7th in career field goals with 259, 6th in free throws with 138, 9th in steals with 118 and tied for 12th in rebounds with 343.
