Regan, Moseley Lead Eagles Past Anna Maria, 69-30


Nashua - The duo of senior center Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) and freshman Alyssa Regan (Salem, N.H.) combined for 28 points, 20 rebounds and four blocks and the Daniel Webster defense limited Anna Maria to just 10% shooting from the field on the night as the Eagles downed the AmCats, 69-30 in women’s basketball Tuesday night at Vagge Gymnasium.

Regan erupted for 17 points in the Eagles home opener, knocking down 8 of 15 from the field, including seven in the paint, while Moseley added a double double of 12 points and 11 boards as the Eagles (1-2) notched their first win of the season. Regan also added three blocks.

Anna Maria (1-2) hit just seven field goals on the night including three in the first half, enabling the Eagles to finish with a resounding 70-45 rebounding advantage including 52 on the defensive glass.

Newcomer Joyce Chagan (Boothbay, Maine) reached double figures for DWC with 13 points and pulled down eight boards while dishing out four assists. Jenny Ozug (Westport, Mass.) added six points and nine boards, Sara Shea (Quincy, Mass.) added six points, and Emily Coole (Pepperell, Mass.) kicked in with five points and nine boards.

The Eagles never trailed and built a 15-4 lead before Anna Maria hit its first field goal of the night, a Juliana Eagles (Quincy, Mass.) three pointer 7:40 into the first half. The Eagles grew the lead to as many as 21 and they led 34-14 at the break.

Sarah Moore (Jefferson, Mass.) finished with 13 points to lead Anna Maria, while Eagles added 12. Crystal Torres (Southbridge, Mass.) notched five to round out the AmCats scoring.

Daniel Webster returns to action Tuesday, November 27th when they host Eastern Nazarene in a non-league matchup at 6:00 p.m.
