Eagles Even Things Up, Top Crusaders 56-41

Nashua - Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) led all scorers with a game high 17 points and added eight rebounds, and Alyssa Regan (Salem, N.H.) just missed a double double with eight points and 10 boards leading host Daniel Webster past Eastern Nazarene, 56-41 in women’s basketball Tuesday night at Vagge Gymnasium.

Sarah Shea (Quincy, Mass.) added nine points and four steals as the Eagles won their second straight in evening their season record at 2-2.

Amanda Remmel (Allentown, Penn.) led the Crusaders (2-2) with 13 points, while Jessica Shoppee (Scarborough, Maine) notched 10 and Christina Winchester (West Haven. Conn.) scored seven points and pulled in a game high 14 rebounds.

It was a tale of two halves as ENC shot 41% in the first and led 24-23 at the break, but hit just 22% in the second as the Eagles took the lead for good on two Moseley free throws with 15:39 to play and held the Crusaders to just three points over an important five minute stretch midway through the second and allowed just six points over the final 7:43 of the game.

DWC, meanwhile shot just 25% in the opening stanza but heated up connecting for 48% from the field in the second as they outscored ENC, 33-17.

The hot shooting allowed DWC to withstand a solid rebounding night from the Crusaders, who finished with a 16-40 advantage including 18 on the offensive glass.

Brianna DeSeignora (Medfield, Mass.) added seven points for the Eagles, while Joyce Chagan (Boothbay, Maine) chipped in with six.

DWC returns to action Thursday when they travel to Regis for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff. ENC hosts Albertus Magnus Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
