Ashley Boyd (Hanson, Mass.) notched a double double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) added a double double with 12 points and a game high 13 boards as Daniel Webster downed Wheelock, 56-41 Thursday.

Sarah Shea (Quincy, Mass.) added 11 points as the Eagles (5-4) kept the Wildcats (0-12) winless.

Jessica O’Connor (Claremont, N.H.) led Wheelock with a game high 18 points which included four three pointers, while Sarah Brown (Plainville, Conn.) chipped in with 11.

The win also allowed the Eagles to continue their mastery over the Wildcats. DWC remained unbeaten in the all-time series at 12-0.

Both teams sputtered offensively in the first half combining for 11 points over the first seven minutes. Tied at 13 with 9:31 to go in the first, Shea knocked down her second three pointer of the night for a 16-13 lead the Eagles would never relinquish. Two late layups from Briana DeSeignora (seven points) and Mosely (at the buzzer) gave the Eagles a 26-15 lead at the break as the Wildcats converted on just 5 of 31 attempts (16%).

The big difference in the first half was rebounding as the Eagles owned a 35-21 advantage on the boards setting the tone for what would prove to be a massive 61-40 difference under the glass. The rebounding also allowed DWC to finish with an important 23-8 advantage in second chance points.

The Eagles, who had also shot a poor 29% in the opening frame, heated up in the second to shoot 38%. A Moseley jumper with 17:51 left built the lead to 17 (35-18) followed by a three pointer from Brown to cut it back to 14, but the Eagles would eventually build the advantage to as many as 22 after a jumper by Boyd made it 50-28 with 6:35 left and an Emily Coole (five points) three pointer made it 54-32 with three minutes to go.

Danielle Carkin added four steals, while Jenny Ozug (Westport, Mass.) also chipped in with five points.

The Eagles return to action Saturday when they travel to Albertus Magnus for a 1:00 p.m. GNAC matchup. Wheelock hosts Maine-Farmington Monday at 1:00 p.m.
