Suffolk Rushes Past Eagles, 70-36

(Boston, Mass.) - The Suffolk University Women's Basketball team remained
undefeated in conference play with a 70-36 victory over visiting Daniel
Webster College Saturday afternoon at Suffolk's Regan Gymnasium. The Rams
are now 4-0 in the GNAC and 9-5 overall.
Suffolk's Carly Johnson (Atkinson, NH) led all scorers with 14 points in the
game on 6-11 shooting. Suffolk's Stephanie Zito (Guilford, CT) added 9 of
her own.
The Rams led 16-8 in the first half before exploding for a game-breaking
22-7 run in the final nine minutes of the first half to take a 38-15 lead.
Suffolk continued their impressive play in the second half starting out on a
10-2 run to take a 48-17 lead with 15:41 remaining. The Rams led by at least
30 points for the final seven minutes of the game.
Suffolk's defense once again told the story as the Rams forced 33 Daniel
Webster turnovers and held DWC to an abismal 14 fieldgoals on 29% shooting.
Suffolk came up with 18 steals on the afternoon. Katlyn Klecha (Fairfield,
CT) led the Rams with 6 steals.
Daniel Webster dropped to 0-3 in the GNAC and 5-7 overall with the loss.
Suffolk University has won four in a row.
