Sharks Put Bite on Eagles, 59-46
Box Score
Sarah Clayton (East Falmouth, Mass.) notched a game high 22 points including
three three-pointers to lead Simmons past host Daniel Webster, 59-46 Monday
night.
The win halted a brief two game skid for the Sharks (7-10, 2-3 GNAC), as
Simmons topped the Eagles for the fifth consecutive time.
Sarah Shea (Quincy, Mass.) led the Eagles (6-9, 1-4 GNAC) with 17 points
including three treys, while Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) added a double
double with 14 points and game best 14 rebounds.
Lauren Kreckie (Braintree, Mass.) and Cassie Saikin (Littleton, N.H.) added
seven points each for the Sharks.
Ashley Boyd chipped in with four points, six boards, two blocks and two
steals for the Eagles.
The Eagles led by as many as three in the early going and held a 19-18 lead
with 5:00 to play in the first after a Nicole Conley jumper, but a Clayton
trey 23 seconds later and another with 3:28 left sparked a quick 8-0 spurt
that gave the Sharks a lead they would not relinquish.
Trailing 31-24 at the break, the Eagles went cold from the field in the
second half, knocking down 25% from the field and finished 29% on the night
as Simmons would build a lead as large as 15 points.
Daniel Webster returns to action Wednesday with a visit to Pine Manor
College for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off.
