February 3, 2006
Southern Vermont Downs Eagles, 69-58

Box Score

Markeisha Mullen (Baltimore, Md.) notched a double double with a game high 23 points and 13 rebounds, and Shenika Dow (Raleigh, N.C.) added 13 to lead Southern Vermont past host Daniel Webster, 69-58 in non-conference action Saturday at Vagge Gymnasium.

The win snapped a six game skid for the Mountaineers (2-16), while the Eagles (6-11) dropped their third straight.

Sarah Shea (Quincy, Mass.) led the Eagles with 19 points, while Erin Moseley (Sterling, Mass.) added 16 and eight rebounds.

Jalessa Marshall (Waterbury, Conn.) added 11 points for the Mountaineers, while Rachael Pannel (Detroit, Mich.) notched five points and pulled reeled in a game high 14 rebounds.

The Eagles led 8-6 in the early going, but a Krystle White (Flint, Mich.) jumper with 14:00 to go in the first half, gave SVC a lead they would not relinquish.

Leading 32-25 at the half, SVC jumped ahead by as much as 17 after a Mullen three pointer made it 59-42 with 8:41. The Eagles chipped the lead down to 12 after a Shea layup and free throw from Ashley Boyd (Hanson, Mass.) made it 59-47 with 6:43 to go, but a Pannel layup and a Patenaude trey helped build the lead back up to 17 with 2:26 left and the Eagles pulled no closer than 12.

DWC returns to action Tuesday when they travel to Norwich for a 7:00 p.m. GNAC game, while SVC visits Wheelock Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
