Norwich Tops Eagles, 66-39

(Northfield, Vt.) - Norwich forced 32 turnovers and held Daniel Webster to three, second-half field goals en route to a 66-39 win over the Eagles at Andrews Hall Tuesday night.

The Cadets (19-2, 7-1 GNAC) also collected 27 offensive rebounds. The Eagles (6-12, 1-6 GNAC) shot 22 percent from the field, but connected on 21 of 27 free throws for 78 percent.

Norwich opened the game on a 9-2 run, but the Eagles remained close pulling to within one at 9-8 with 14:36 remaining before halftime. The Cadets then outscored DWC, 22-6, to take a commanding 31-14 halftime lead.

In the second half, Norwich continued the momentum and built a 31-point lead with all bench players logging at least 10 minutes of playing time.

Two Cadets scored in double figures as Kristi Powlovich recorded 11 points and Kayleigh Shappy chipped in with 10.

Erin Moseley was the only player in double figures for the Eagles, with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

Norwich will resume GNAC play on Saturday with a road game at Johnson & Wales at 1:00 p.m. Daniel Webster will take a break from league action on Thursday night with a home game against Hampshire at 6:00 p.m.
