Eagles Women Renew Crosstown Rivier Rivalry Wednesday
An annual local women’s college basketball rivalry will be renewed Wednesday
night when Daniel Webster travels across town to face host Rivier in a Great
Northeast Athletic Conference matchup. Tip off is at 5:30 p.m at the Muldoon
Center. The game will also be broadcast live locally by WGAM, AM-800. A live
audio stream of the game can be found on the WGAM website or by clicking

6th Year Head Coach Cori Hughes looks for her Eagles to build on a 5-5
overall mark (0-1 GNAC) after a tight 56-51 loss at Albertus Magnus this
past Saturday. The Eagles are paced by junior center Erin Moseley, who
stands second in GNAC scoring (15.1 ppg) and fourth in rebounding (9.2).
Second Year Head Coach Kelly O’Connell’s Raiders sport an 8-4 overall mark
(0-1 GNAC) and look to halt a two-game slide including a 59-47 setback to
Johnson & Wales this past Saturday. Rivier sports the GNAC’s top offense
averaging 76.4 points per game, and is led by freshman and Meredith, N.H.
native Blair Carpenter’s 13.7 points per pouting, while junior Sadie
Hartiman of Loudon, N.H. is the league’ top rebounder, averaging 10.8 per
game.
The game marks the 18th all time meeting between the two schools, dating
back to 1987 with the Raiders holding a 9-8 edge. The Eagles have won the
last three including a 51-39 victory last February 12th at Rivier.
