Eagles Rush Past Fisher, 8-0


Nashua - Newcomers Kira Clark (Saco, Maine) and Jennifer Trombley (Rutland, Vt.) and junior Erin Hurd (Centerville, Mass.) registered two goals apiece as the Daniel Webster College women’s soccer team shutout visiting Fisher College, 8-0 at Eagle Field Tuesday afternoon.

Kacie Lang (Raymond, N.H.) added a goal and two assists while TC DiSantis (Hinsdale, Mass.) added a single score as the Eagles improved to 4-3 overall and won for the fourth time in their last five outings.

Freshman Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) earned the victory in goal, finishing with one save.

Lang put the hosts up just 4:30 into the match, knocking home an 18-yarder, and Clark followed with two straight, tipping home a Lewis cross pass at 9:22 and knocked home the rebound of a Hurd shot 3:30 later for a commanding 3-0 lead.

Hurd upped it to 4-0 with an unassisted tally at the 22:51 mark and DiSantis made it 5-0 1:02 later.

Trombley notched back-to-back goals 1:22 apart as the half wound down for a 7-0 lead at the break.

Hurd closed out the scoring at the 66-minute mark off a Lewis feed.

Melissa Holloman (Brighton, Mass.) and Briana Villemaire (Douglas, Mass.) combined for nine saves for the Falcons (1-8), who dropped their second straight.

The Eagles return to action Saturday when they host Elms College in a New England Collegiate Conference matchup beginning at 1:00 p.m.
