Fire Safety Education/Policies/Rules


  • All first year students must attend a fire safety seminar.
  • Resident Assistants (RAs) meet with their residents to go over fire safety and evacuation procedures.
  • The Director of Safety meets annualy with Faculty/Staff/RAs to train them on Fire Safety.
  • All residents are given Student Handbooks, which detail fire safety rules and policies.
  • Fire drills are performed in each residence hall each semester.
  • Placards are placed on each door of our rooms describing locations for fire exits, fire extinguishers, and fire pull stations.
  • Emergency Management Guides are located in all classrooms and assembly areas.
  • Inspections of all residence hall rooms occur each semester.
