Daniel Webster College's Department of Campus Safety is dedicated to working with our campus community to achieve excellence in public safety services and to promote a safe, tranquil atmosphere that is conducive to the objectives of the college.
All students, faculty, staff, and guests are expected to immediately report unusual or suspicious incidents to Campus Safety. The department will dispatch an officer to evaluate the situation. If necessary, the appropriate college or external authorities will be contacted.
Campus Safety enjoys an excellent working relationship with the city of Nashua Police Department, which has the primary police jurisdiction for the campus. All matters brought to the attention of Campus Safety are investigated to determine the appropriate action and victims of crime are given the opportunity to report the incident to the police department. Daniel Webster College's safety department operates on three elements: prevention, education, and response.
All rooms in residential halls have institutional grade hardware. All exterior doors are secured 24 hours a day with institutional grade hardware or a card access system. Each student living in a residential hall is assigned an individual room key that is randomly numbered and an exterior door key or access card. The landscaping is maintained to ensure adequate lighting and the quality and effectiveness of outside campus lighting is surveyed frequently.
Resident assistants discuss security precautions on the first few nights in hall meetings when students arrive. Regular educational programs on topics such as safety awareness, self defense, residence hall security, substance abuse, drunk driving, and sexual assault awareness are presented by Campus Safety and the office of student affairs.
The Campus Safety department provides 24 hour a day routine and emergency coverage for all campus-owned property and buildings. We utilize highly visible foot, bicycle, and motorized patrols throughout the campus and routinely patrol residential halls.
The Campus Safety office is open for general business Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. We're located on University Drive at the College Center.
To contact an officer after business hours, community members should dial (603) 577-6300 or extension 6300 from on campus locations.
