Robert E. Myers, Ph.D.
Biography
Leading Daniel Webster College since July 2005, President Myers has
developed and begun implementation of
Vision 2015, a strategic long-range plan to position the College as New
England's honors institution for science, technology, engineering, and
math-related disciplines.
Also under President Myers' leadership,
- The College has been reaccredited by the New England Association of
Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
- The academic faculty has revisited curricula to refresh and update
what students learn so that they truly are "workforce ready" when they
graduate, embodying the skills, attributes, and knowledge to come into
any organization and make an immediate contribution
- Daniel Webster has sought to develop new programs to meet current
and emerging needs of business and industry, including the new B.S. in
Homeland Security.
At the undergraduate level, the College's Computer Science program unlike
those in colleges and universities across the country is growing
exponentially, particularly with the introduction of the
College's Gaming, Simulation, and Robotics major, which will have shown
a 300 percent growth in the major for 2007-08. The College's
engineering majors, aeronautical and mechanical, have also seen
substantial student interest, with many current students traveling across
the country to present papers before professional engineering organizations.
Daniel Webster College is also leading the way in providing distinctive
opportunities for adult learners through its
accelerated on-campus MBA programs in Portsmouth and Nashua, as well as
an online
MBA for Aviation Professionals. Additional exciting graduate and
continuing studies programs are also set for release to fill current voids
in the marketplace.
