  2. Why don’t I have a network connection?
If you are a resident student, did you register your computer with ITS?  If not, please call the Help Desk to schedule an appointment with an SNA, or if it’s a laptop please bring it to the Help Desk located in the Eaton-Richmond Center (ERC)

  • Check to see if you have a link light?

  • Look at the back of your PC to make sure your network cable is plugged in properly and you have network activity.

  • If you had connectivity and you’ve lost it, were you notified by ITS about a disconnection due to excessive bandwidth use? Please check with either the Help Desk or the Network Administrator.

  • Is your network cable plugged into the correct port? (make sure you are not plugged into the voice port).

  • Have you made any recent changes to your system, or have installed any software since the last time they had an active connection?  If yes, try undoing those changes or uninstalling new software to see if connectivity returns.

  1. Can I use my laptop at DWC?
Yes. DWC allows laptops on their network.  All Laptops need to be registered in order to connect to the DWC network.  Before connection they need to be checked to make sure they do not have any viruses, all operating critical updates have been installed, and have Anti-Virus software installed.  Please bring your laptop to the HelpDesk, located in the Eaton-Richmond Center, during lab hours to register and to connect to the network.
