for Daniel Webster College’s 2004 Aviation Heritage Festival,
the premier aviation festival of New England
Offering legendary aircraft from all eras, the festival offers
a wonderful opportunity for aviation enthusiasts of all age
(Nashua, NH) September 20, 2004 —This year's Daniel Webster College (DWC)
Aviation Heritage Festival, slated for Saturday and Sunday, September 25 &
26, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. [both days], promises to appeal to all ages and
interests, with opportunities for up-close experiences with dozens of
legendary aircraft from all eras, like the P-51 Mustang, the F4U Corsair,
the P-47 Thunderbolt, the P-40 Warhawk, the B-17 Flying Fortress, the B-24
Liberator, the B-25 Mitchell, and the TBM Avenger. Military aircraft like
the A-10 Warthog, a C-130 Hercules, and a Black Hawk helicopter will be on
hand. Additionally, Rob Holland, of Nashua’s Aerial Advantage, who recently
placed 10th overall and ranked first among American pilots during
August’s Advanced World Aerobatic Championships in Sweden, will be putting
on an aerobatic demonstration at noontime on Saturday.
The Festival also features
well-known speaker Don Lopez, a WW II Flying Tiger pilot and now deputy
director of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and noted WW II
pilots Frank Tedesco, a B-24 pilot, and Walter Limberger, a B-17 tail
gunner. The WWII panels run both days 10:30 –noon both days. On Sunday,
Sheila Widnall, Former Secretary of the Air Force, will be speaking about
her experience as a member of the Columbia accident investigation board from
1:30-2:30
Aircraft “fly-bys” include
the P-47 Thunderbolt and P-51 Mustang from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. A “fly-by” of
an A-10 Warthog and an aerobatic demonstration (Saturday only), and KC-135
NH Air National Guard refueling tanker (Saturday only), with fly-bys of a
P-40 Warhawk, AD-4 Skyraider, and F4U Corsair slated for 3:30-4:15. They
will also be among the more than three dozen aircraft on the ground at the
festival during the day.
The aircraft expected at
the Festival continues to grow and includes Cessna UC-78 Bobcat, T-6,
Stearman, Sikorsky S-39, and additional military and legendary planes — an

WWII aircraft rides will
be available through the Collings Foundation, at an additional cost, for a
once-in-a-lifetime experience. Additionally, three award-winning aviation
artists - Michael O'Neal, Peter Ring, and Craig Slaff - all members of the
American Society of Aviation Artists (ASAA), will have their work on display
at the College’s Eaton-Richmond Center Gallery from September 10 through
September 26. The Gallery is free and open to the public.
All of this, combined with
wonderful interactive exhibits makes this year’s Daniel Webster College
Aviation Heritage Festival the best ever for the entire family. Exhibitors
include Engineering of Life in Space
by “Dr. Flush” (aka Don Rethke); the Christa McAuliffe Planetarium, which
will be giving a presentation on Mars from 2:30-3:30; the New England Air
Museum; Top Fun Aviation Toy Museum; and the New Hampshire Aviation
Historical Society are among a large number of exhibitioners.
The Festival runs from
8:30 a.m. 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday at Boire Field, adjacent to the
College's Nashua campus, exit 6 off of the Everett Turnpike. For directions

Adult admission is $15, children 4-12 are $5, and children under 3 are free.
Tickets for seniors and veterans are $12; special advance sales discount
tickets are available for groups. Free parking is available or pilots may
