UNIX Programming / System
Administration (12 Credits)
The required courses will help individuals acquire those computer skills that
are in demand, enhance their marketability, and give them an edge in today's
competitive job market. The topics covered in this certificate; C programming,
Shell scripting, UNIX and Linux all have achieved prominence in the software
industry. Prerequisite: Good programming skills and prior knowledge of computer
systems.

.NET Program Track (18
Credits)
Delivered as hands-on lab sessions in conjunction with lectures, this program
includes proven course materials to master essential Microsoft.NET skills, the
software that connects information, people, systems and devices. Courses allow
students to work at individual workstations and to maximize learning during lab
time. Windows XP and Microsoft SQL Server are provided on the student computers.
Instructors who are real-life developers and industry practitioners teach all
classes.

Web Design (15 Credits)
This certificate in web design meets the needs of artists and other
non-technical professionals who must use the web and manage information in a
web-dominated environment. It is intended for non-programmers who wish to
develop a solid foundation in web design. Students will be introduced to the
entire suite of tools provided by Macromedia (MMS) including Dream Weaver,
Fireworks, and Flash. Upper level courses in this certificate program include
"Content Management Tools" such as Contribute, Mambo, Radio Userland, and
Blogger; "Search Engine Optimization" with Google, Yahoo, Adwords, and Overture.
Later courses will introduce students to XML, XHTML, CSS, accessibility issues,
and "how to run a web business."
