SCOPE:
Psychologists
play a role in the criminal justice system. They
evaluate such factors as the insanity defense,
competency to stand trial, and risk to self and others
as well as hostage negotiation. Forensic psychologists
work in hospitals, courts, treatment centers, police and
government services and perform duties such as
consulting, training, research, and management. (Colman,
Companion Encyclopedia of Psychology)
