Anne Sexton

Scope:  The Poet Anne Sexton was a high school teacher and university professor. She won the Pulitzer Prize in 1967 for Live or Die. She spent many years in and out of psychiatric hospitals and eventually took her own life. Her poetry reflects her preoccupation with death.
