engineering, manufacturing and technology, sociology and business.
Raburn will bring both his enthusiasm
and experience in developing internationally-recognized Eclipse Aviation --
which designs, certifies and produces revolutionary, affordable jet aircraft
-- to Daniel Webster College's Collings Auditorium on Thursday, April 7th at

Eclipse Aviation, located in
Albuquerque, N.M., is doing what other aircraft manufacturers have never
done before -- conducting a transparent and public process in the
certification of their Eclipse 500 jet, by announcing many key milestones in
the FAA certification process before they were scheduled to occur. Details
can be found on Eclipse's website at
www.eclipseaviation.com. The
company's success to date is in spite of the many in the aviation
manufacturing segment contending that the project was a "pie in the sky" and
couldn't be done.
Eclipse Aviation conceived the very light jet
concept -- advanced twin-engine jet aircraft that cost a fraction of the
cost of today’s jet aircraft. Eclipse is currently on schedule with its
flight test and certification programs.
The company is comprised of over 400
engineers, technicians, program management and support people with the
singular dedication of bringing the Eclipse 500 to FAA Certification and
production. The company is applying revolutionary propulsion, manufacturing
and electronics systems to produce aircraft that cost less than a fourth of
today's small jet aircraft, will be significantly safer and easier to
operate than those of today, and have the lowest cost of ownership ever
achieved in a jet aircraft.
With
more than 25 years experience in the information technology industry,
Eclipse CEO & President Vern Raburn, , has helped to shape the course of the
information technology revolution and the IT industry. He has held senior
positions at Microsoft, Lotus Development, Symantec and Slate, as well as
the Paul Allen Group. He also has amassed over 6,500 hours of flight time
and earned type certificates in aircraft ranging from four-engine airlines
to WWII bombers to modern executive jets. He holds a degree in industrial
engineering from California State University Long Beach.
