Aero-News Speaks With Daniel Webster
College's
Dr. Robert "Skip" Myers
As
the American airline industry returns ever-so-slowly to health, an
increasing number of students are expected to seek their collegiate
educations at aviation-minded institutions such as New Hampshire's
Daniel Webster College. With ever-increasing competition from such
entities as Embry-Riddle and Pan Am Flight Training, what does DWC
President Dr. Myers (below, right) feel makes his college unique?
"There is a very unique approach to
teaching students [at Daniel Webster]," Dr. Myers told ANN Senior
Correspondent Kevin O'Brien recently at the 2005 NBAA Convention. "From
the day they enter the classroom, they're in a plane... they're not
waiting a year for access to flying time. They're flying immediately."
(And he should know, as he's also
working on his private pilot license at the college.)
Listen
to more of Myers' views on flight training — including how the New
England weather affects student training, as well as DWC's plans for
students who haven't been to college for some time — in today's ANN
Special Report.
