(Nashua, N.H.) —The
President’s Office is pleased to announce the appointment of James S.
Hill as vice president of advancement at Daniel Webster College (DWC).
Hill starts October 11, 2005.
Hill is an experienced
and successful higher education advancement and fund-raising executive,
coming from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU), Daytona Beach,
Fla. As its vice president of development, he led the university’s
fundraising efforts, including supervising a $75 million capital
campaign, major gifts, annual and planned giving, the
corporate/foundation grant program, stewardship, prospect research, and
alumni/parent relations.
Prior to ERAU, Hill culminated a career at Northern Arizona University
as interim vice president, university advancement and executive director
of NAU Foundation, where he more than doubled the university’s income
from annual gifts and raised $106 million
toward a $100 million goal in the first five
years of a seven year campaign.
Previous to Northern
Arizona University, Hill established and directed new development
programs for the College of Communication and the School of Information
Studies during the final three years of a $250 million campaign for
Florida State University. He also held the position of senior consultant
at Donald A. Campbell & Company, Inc., where he created, conducted,
analyzed and implemented philanthropic market studies for non-profit
organizations with fundraising goals between $500,000 and $100 million.

wealth of philanthropic knowledge and experience from a variety of
institutions,” said DWC President Skip Myers. “With a new vision here at
DWC, including the ‘One Daniel Webster College,’ I know Jim will be
successful in raising not only money, but the reputation of Daniel
Webster to the national level we are seeking. We are delighted to have
been able to lure him to Nashua and know that his success will be our
