AAAE’s Will James
named to DWC Board of Trustees
(Nashua,
NH) — Will James, C.M., A.C.A., of Alexandria, Va., American Association
of Airport Executives (AAAE) senior vice president, business development
and training, was recently elected to the Board of Trustees at Daniel
Webster College.
James holds a degree in aviation
management/air traffic management from Daniel Webster College, has earned
the Certified Member Designation from the American Association of Airport
Executives, as well as the Advanced Certification Administrator Designation
from the National Certification Commission. In his position with AAAE,
James oversees the association's business development opportunities;
facilitates training services to airports world-wide through research,
analysis, and planning; manages the development, administration and
continuous improvement of the Airport Certified Employee (ACE), of the
industrys only narrowly tailored and focused professional certification
programs; and provides guidance on new product development and enhanced
member service initiatives. James is also on Boards of Travelers Aid
International and the Airport Minority Advisory Council.
James has been recognized by AAAE
President Charles Barclay, A.A.E., with the Association’s
Heavy Hitter Award and
President’s Award, and has
also earned a Certificate of
Recognition from the Airport Minority Advisory Council’s
Award of the Chair for
significant contributions to the field of airport management.
AAAE, the largest professional
organization for airport executives in the world, represents thousands of
airport management personnel at public use airports nationwide. Its
primary goal is to assist airport executives in fulfilling their
responsibilities to the airports and communities they serve. Founded in
1928 to represent airport management throughout the United States, the
most important event for AAAE was the formal adoption of a professional
standards accreditation program in 1954. Since that time, no one has been
awarded Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) status without meeting the
requirements established by the Board of Directors.
Prior to
his current position, James was airport duty manager for the Massachusetts
Port Authority, an independent public authority that develops, promotes
and manages airports, the seaport and transportation infrastructure, where
James oversaw operations at Hansom Field and Boston’s Logan International
Airport.
