| NASHUA -- Daniel Webster College is
bringing Ralph Baer to the Collings Auditorium on April 12 as part of
the college's MBA Lecture Series.
Baer and guest interviewer Avi Nelson,
political analyst and commentator -- who himself holds degrees in
electrical engineering and applied physics -- will have a conversation
about Baer's 65-year career, which includes the active development and
production of commercial and military electronics, resulting in 150
patents. His inventions include the home video game that he created
while he was at Sanders Associates.
Baer is also expected to demonstrate
the first home console for video games, Odyssey, which he developed
while working for Sanders Associates. Odyssey, of course, launched what
is now a multibillion dollar industry. He was recently honored by the
President Bush at the White House with the National Medal of Technology.
Baer's book, Videogames: In the
Beginning, will be available for purchase at a book-signing after the
program.
The 7:30 p.m. event is free and open to
the public. Doors open at 7 p.m. and seats are available on a
first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call 603-577-6625. |
