A
Mutually Beneficial Collaboration for New Hampshire Small Business
Development Center and Daniel Webster College
(Nashua,
NH — May 16, 2007) Next month Nashua-area small business owners seeking
the wise counsel and sage advice from the New Hampshire Small Business
Development Center (NH SBDC) will be driving onto Daniel Webster
College’s University Drive to meet with NH SBDC regional manager Hollis
McGuire at NH SBDC’s new Nashua office on the campus of Daniel Webster.
Representatives from
both organizations, including NH SBDC State Director Mary E. Collins and
Daniel Webster College (DWC) President Robert E. Myers, signed a
memorandum of understanding detailing the program and collaborative
activities on May 10, 2007.
This new
partnership, said DWC President Myers, brings additional resources to
both organizations through new programs, collaborations, efficiencies,
and resource use optimization. Additionally, he added, “increasing the
cooperative and collaborative links between us will enable our
respective faculty and staff to work to develop stronger programs of
mutual interest and benefit, something we might not be able to achieve
separately.”
Said DWC Business
and Management chair, Professor Reza Hoshmand, the joint venture will
facilitate development of student projects and internships, as well as
augment grants programs that will engage faculty and/or students with
client services and allow for collaborative funding sources.
“The NH SBDC has a
long history working with students from Daniel Webster,” states Mary
Collins, SBDC state director. “This MOU formalizes the partnership and
offers area businesses direct access to resources vital to growing and
sustaining their businesses.”
NH SBDC is a
cooperative venture of the US Small Business Administration, the
University System of NH, the State of NH and the private sector, and an
outreach program of the UNH Whittemore School of Business and Economics.
Through regional offices, SBDC certified business advisers provide
confidential, one-on-one management consulting to area businesses, which
includes identifying and analyzing business problems and developing and
implementing solutions to small business concerns in a timely manner.
Additionally, each regional office offers educational programming and
collaborates with other economic development organizations regionally
and statewide. For more information, visit
