Nashua —
Daniel Webster College will host the first in a series of televised
business forums with presidential candidates.
On Wednesday,
Republican candidate Mike Huckabee, the former governor of Arkansas,
will share his thoughts on economic policies, business ethics and
investor protection, according to New Hampshire Public Television,
which will broadcast the talk at a later date.
Myron Kandel,
a former CNN financial analyst, will host the question-and-answer
and subsequent interviews. The event will be held at the college’s
Collings Auditorium at 7:15 p.m. and is open to the public.
The series
will focus on the issues behind business scandals seen in corporate
America, NHPTV said.
“Scandals
consistently occupied the news cycle through at least two
presidential elections, yet never became part of our national
political dialogue,” Kandel wrote in a press release. “We hope to
make these issues national priorities and get them on the
presidential agenda for the first time in American history.”
Upcoming
candidate interviews will be taped live on college and university
campuses throughout New Hampshire, NHPTV said. Those dates and
locations and the names of the candidates were not released by NHPTV.
The series is
a partnership between Initiative for Corporate Responsibility and
Investor Protection and NHPTV’s “N.H. Outlook” program.
Wednesday’s
event is free to the public. Taping begins at 7:30 p.m., but
audience member are asked to be in their seats by 7:15.
It will be
broadcast on NHPTV on October 21 at 9:30 a.m. and October 22 at 7:30
p.m.
