Gail M. Garceau Tapped As Daniel Webster College
Vice President of Advancement and Alumni Affairs
(Nashua, NH) -
Daniel Webster College (DWC) President Robert E. Myers announced the
appointment of Gail M. Garceau as Vice President of Advancement and
Alumni Affairs.
Garceau, widely
recognized around the state for her extraordinary work with Heritage
United Way, has also successfully partnered in a management consultant
role with numerous Granite State organizations, including the Workforce
Opportunity Council, Concord; and the YWCA, Independent Services
Network, Southern New Hampshire University, Manchester Community
Television, and the Farnum Center, all in Manchester. Her work also took
her beyond the state, when she worked with Verizon in Washington, D.C.
As Vice
President, Senior Health Services, Elliot Health System, Garceau was a
fierce advocate for seniors, playing a strategic role in identifying the
most critical needs facing seniors and developing programs and services
to meet those needs.
"We couldn't be
more thrilled to have Gail join our team here at Daniel Webster," said
President Robert E. Myers. "In addition to her energy, enthusiasm, and
integrity, she brings a wide breadth of fundraising experience and
extensive knowledge of the region that few others have. Her exceptional
relationship building, project management, and financial resource
development skills are unsurpassed, and we look forward to her arrival."
Garceau, who
begins her new role at the end of August, holds a deep commitment to
volunteerism and social responsibility; she is a board member of the
Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Child & Family Services, and
Family Strategies and Services.
She is also
associated with the Currier Museum and Seniors Count, and she has been
affiliated with other local non-profit organizations in a variety of
roles, including Manchester Mayor Guinta's Task Force on Health and
Family Services, Mayor Baine's Commission on the Office of Youth
Services, Healthy Manchester Leadership Council, Get Moving Manchester,
the New Hampshire Symphony, and the Commission on Charitable Giving &
Volunteerism in New Hampshire.
Garceau is the
recipient of numerous awards, including The Mental Health Center of
Greater Manchester's "Community Leadership Award"; Campus Compact for
New Hampshire's "President's Community Partner Award"; Odyssey House's
"Heroine Award"; the Manchester YMCA's "Susan B. Anthony Award"; and she
was named among the Business Leaders of the 21st Century by
Business NH Magazine.
During her
nine-year tenure as president of Heritage United Way, Garceau raised
more than $27 million in support of community programs serving the
communities' most vulnerable citizens. She also successfully executed
the merger of the United Way of Greater Manchester and the
Derry-Londonderry-Timberlane United Way into Heritage United Way.
Garceau
provided innovative, collaborative, and professional volunteer
leadership as president of United Ways of New Hampshire and chair of the
Chief Professional Officers Advisory Committee of that organization. |
