DWC features well-known local artist Kevin Dadoly

October 15 - December 17
Artist’s reception scheduled for Friday, October 15

September 1, 2004 -- Daniel Webster College is displaying the award-winning watercolor and oil works of Kevin Dadoly of Amherst, N.H., at an exhibition slated for October 15 through December 17, 2004, at the Eaton-Richmond Center Gallery. An artist’s reception is scheduled for DWC’s Family Weekend, Friday, October 15 from 5:00-9:00 p.m.

For those unfamiliar with his work, Dadoly is an accomplished artist and an innovative art instructor. His approach to painting and teaching brings together his creative energy, his extraordinary use of color and a complete understanding of composition.

He does not see color like we do, as Dadoly is colorblind. Instead, he intuitively feels and intimately knows the meaning of color, having studied color values with great intensity and having mastered the colors of the palette. His talent and personality are artfully interpreted on the canvas giving the viewer an inspirational and colorful experience whether it is a watercolor or oil.

For more than 12 years Dadoly has been a watercolor instructor and believes that there is no wrong way to paint. He states: “There are two things that I enjoy about life: painting and people. Therefore teaching people to paint is a natural combination. The way I teach is simple. I search to uncover each student’s strengths then I work with the student to build these strengths into future successful works. By focusing on the positive I am able to work with the artist and push them to new and exciting achievements. I am passionate about painting! Teaching provides a way to share this passion with others.”

In addition to having a substantial amount of his work in private and public collections, Dadoly teaches year-round at the New Hampshire Art Institute and Souhegan Adult Enrichment program, he has developed his own workshop, “A Brush with the Island,” which is an annual event on North Haven Island, Me., and the Art Association of Nantucket Visiting Artist Program has included him in their summer programs for the past five summers. Dadoly’s private masters classes are very popular and he also lectures at local art societies, art guilds, educational institutes and retail establishments.
