DWC senior receives ISTAT Foundation scholarship

October 24, 2004 (Nashua, NH) — Daniel Webster College (DWC) aviation management senior, Katryzina P. Zaranek of Medina, N.Y., was the recent recipient of scholarship by ISTAT Foundation, the charitable giving arm of the International Society of Transport Aircraft Trading.

ISTAT Foundation Chairman Thomas Hiniker, president and chairman of Airfund Corporation of Lexington, Mass., presented the check to Kate, along with DWC President Hannah M. McCarthy.

“Kate has a great enthusiasm for aviation, diligence in pursuing her goals, and the potential to be very successful in the aviation industry,” said Hiniker.  “Daniel Webster College’s aviation management program is an outstanding example of how we should educate future aviation management.”

ISTAT, with headquarters in Fairfax, Va., was founded in 1983 to foster and promote interest in the principles and development of aeronautics; promote and provide a forum for improved communication among those involved in aviation and supporting industries; encourage and arrange for national and international conventions and exhibitions; provide news and information of general interest to the commercial aviation trading industry; and develop and encourage the use of standards governing certain practices and procedures in the aircraft trading industry. The ISTAT Foundation was founded in 1994 to provide funds and grants to be used in the advancement of commercial aviation

Daniel Webster College, founded in 1965 as the New England Aeronautical Institute, offers nationally recognized aviation programs to college students. The college offers Bachelor of Science degrees in aviation flight operations, air traffic management, and aviation management. The college’s flight training program is approved under the guidelines of Federal Aviation Regulation Parts 141 and 61, and all instructors are Certified Flight Instructors.
