Arnesen Speaks at Career Series


October 21, 2003 - New Hampshire's own Arnie Arnesen was the featured speaker  at the first of Daniel Webster College's Social Science Careers in Action  speaker series. Taking a page from her own diverse background, Arnesen spoke about the importance of a social science background and how individuals can use their knowledge in social science to impact public debate and public policy. She also discussed how that knowledge can be put into action in the media and political arenas to make a real difference in people's lives.

The next speaker in the series slated for Wednesday, November 12, 7 p.m. is Ruth-Ellen Post, J. D., Adjunct Professor, Franklin Pierce Law Center, who will discuss how to best prepare for law school and a career in law.

The Social Science major at Daniel Webster College prepares students to make a difference, while honing the skills essential to success in any professional career. The interdisciplinary nature of the program gives students a broader understanding of social issues and forces, while internships give students valuable hands-on experience and the opportunity to explore career options.
