finalist for Higher Education Faculty Member Award

-- Daniel Webster College’s Kathleen Fitzpatrick, Social Sciences and
Humanities, was named a finalist for the Higher Education Faculty Member
Award for the New Hampshire Excellence in Education Awards.
The N.H. College and
University Council (NHCUC) Academic Affairs Committee invited nominations
from each of its member institutitions and Fitzpatrick was selected as one
of the three finalists.
The award for
outstanding teaching in postsecondary education is presented to a faculty
member who exemplifies outstanding excellence in classroom teaching, has
strong rapport with students and colleagues, and is recognized for
encouraging independent thinking and intellectual development.
Fitzpatrick, Director of
Experiential Education at DWC, has been at the college since 1982 and was
recognized with the 2004 Excellence in Teaching Award by DWC faculty, staff
and students. The Excellence in Teaching Award recognizes the craft of
teaching and the ability to inspire active learning. Fitzpatrick is a
resident of Nashua.
