The Magic of Crime --
an award-winning audience participation mystery-comedy
-- comes to Daniel Webster College |
April
13, 2004 - The Daniel Webster College theater guild is
presenting the audience participation mystery-comedy
The Magic of Crime on Wednesday, April 28th and
Wednesday, May 5th at 8:00 pm at the College's Collings
Auditorium.
The Magic of Crime,
honored as one of the Hippo Press' top six outstanding
performances of 2002, was co-written by Daniel Webster
College Assistant Professor and MBA Academic Program
Coordinator Tom Anastasi. The DWC Theater Guild's
production marks the first time it has played in New
Hampshire since its world premier tour in 2002002 with
the award-winning Majestic Theatre.
Anastasi's co-author, E.
Kyle Minor, is a theater critic for the New York Times
and the New Haven Register, as well as a theater
professor. "It's a privilege and a joy to see
Daniel Webster College present "Magic," said
Minor, whose other plays have been produced in New York
City and regionally. "Tom and I intended the play to be
a crowd-pleaser and I'm sure it will provide
theatergoers with a welcome diversion."
"We're thrilled that
Daniel Webster is doing The Magic of Crime," said
Anastasi, who is also directing the play. "The
student cast has great energy and talent." The
cast includes Rivier College sophomore Jenn Waterman and
DWC students Donny Brown, Lee Zerrilla, Owen Davis, Pete
Angelli, Kerri Fadden, Stacey Simmons, Josh Jakob, Derek
Weaver, and Brent Cannata.
As the audience watches,
Marco Cacciatore, the soon-to-be famous magician, is
giving a tune-up performance for the David Letterman
show when something or someone disappears. Put
your gumshoes on because Joe Thursday and Bill Cannon
may need more than "just the facts." You help
crack the case!
The Magic of Crime
is appropriate for all ages. Admission is free
(donations are accepted). For more information call
