to publish book on political theory

December 29, 2004 (Nashua, NH) — Daniel Webster College Associate Professor Daniel S. Malachuk will publish his book Perfection, the State, and Victorian Liberalism with Palgrave Macmillan in July 2005. The author of a number of articles on literature and political theory, Malachuk argues in the forthcoming book for the contemporary relevance of Victorian liberal theory, which emphasized the state's role in enabling citizens to lead good as well as free lives. 

Since arriving at Daniel Webster College in 1997, Dr. Malachuk has often included service learning in his courses in writing, philosophy, and literature, a teaching technique that combines classroom learning with community service to enhance both. Dr. Malachuk, a Nashua resident, earned his AB from Bowdoin College and his PhD from Rutgers University.
