The work of alumnus Ron Bowman ’73

Enjoy a greater appreciation for the natural beauty of nature by Nashua's own Ron Bowman. Ron mostly shoots using a medium format camera; all of his work is natural and the images are not the result of any digital manipulation or retouching. "I appreciate the technical aspects of photography, I am much more passionate for the beauty of nature, which in my opinion, can best be enjoyed by walking the back woods or waiting for the sun rise and watching nature's light paint a scene."  Ron's passion for photography has been influenced by the most famous black and white photographer of our time, Ansel Adams, and by the world-renowned color nature photographers Eliot Porter and John Fielder.

DWC "Soulful Celebration 2005" presents:

"What would Dr. Martin Luther King Say Today?
Shattered Dreams" with well-known diversity speaker
Leon Williams

What would Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. say to us today if he could create an addendum to his famous “I Have a Dream” address? Leon Williams, innovative speaker on racial issues, multiculturalism, diversity and the impact of bias and cultural divisiveness, gives us one possibility as he assumes the persona of Dr. King. As Dr. King, he challenges today’s African-American students and their communities to conquer the obstacles facing today’s Black culture in an America where the dream has yet to be full discovered.  Williams has an extraordinary way of taking the sensitive issues of race, diversity and multiculturalism and injecting them with humor, love and passion to help people enrich their lives and career development through a better understanding of multi-cultural and diversity issues.  As director of Intercultural Affairs at Buena Vista University, Iowa, Williams has developed a passion for creating harmony and a spirit of healing and cooperation in campus environments. He speaks about issues of oppression, racism, discrimination, among others, including special programs for Black History Month.
