Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security
This interdisciplinary program helps students prepare for entry-level positions in the public or private sector that involve responding to natural or man-made crises, in the U.S. or around the globe. Through classroom study, field experience and internships, students are exposed to the dynamics of complex human-made and natural threats, and how to best understand, prepare, respond, manage, and recover from them through risk management assessment and analysis methods. Emergency management planning and executive principles are examined, with exercises to appreciate multi-faceted challenges associated with crisis management, while preserving continuity of operations, infrastructure, and helping organizations and communities reclaim their sense of stability and security.
Upon completion of the Bachelor of Science degree program in Homeland Security, graduates should have the necessary knowledge, skills, and aptitude to pursue employment in entry-level positions in a variety of homeland security agencies, and to address the organizational security needs in a variety of institutional settings.
