Online Student Services

Enrolling in a Program

  • Admissions representatives are available online to help prospective students select an educational program. The Registrar will help students complete a transfer credit evaluation for credit earned from accredited institutions, military training and college level examinations such as DANTES or CLEP. If you're not sure about how to get started, please email Admissions, and provide some basic information about yourself (for example: phone number and, perhaps, the program you are interested in).

Career Services

  • All students have access to the Career Services Department, which helps students with job search activities, from resume critiques to career counseling. The Career Services Department also maintains a list of potential job and internship opportunities.

College Library

  • The Veterans Memorial Library's online resources are available 24 hours a day from any location via the virtual library web site for resident and online students. The library carries over 3,000 titles electronically, and is automated to facilitate research on the Elton B. Stephens Company (EBSCO), a host online periodicals database. FirstSearch and other databases are also available via the worldwide web. Reference question-and-answer help is provided by email.

Technical Support

  • Technical support is available if you need help with email, network access and basic equipment configuration issues.

Financial Assistance

  • We recognize that you need to invest considerable time, effort, and money in continuing your education, and we are here to help. Go to Financial Assistance.

  • Tutoring is available for all DWC students

Credit for Prior Learning

Credit for prior learning may be earned through the following ways:

  • The American Council on Education College Recommendation Service evaluates learning in military life for potential academic credits
  • The Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program may allow students to receive college credit for learning and knowledge obtained outside of the traditional college environment, through employment or other life experiences
  • College Level Examination Program (CLEP) Exams may allow students to demonstrate college-level achievement in a wide variety of undergraduate courses
  • Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) offers an extensive series of examinations in college subjects
  • Credit by Examination (CBE)
  • High School Advanced Placement credits
