THE CEREMONY - Commencement exercises will be held at Daniel Webster College on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. under the tent on the DWC soccer field. The processional will proceed from the Vagge Gym to the tent. In the event of rain, please bring an umbrella.

On the day of Commencement, report to the Vagge Gym no later than 10:00am.

If you are receiving an Associate's degree and a Bachelor's degree line up with the Bachelor candidates.

It is essential that you arrive on time since the processional must be arranged. To achieve this, you will be given an index card with your name and line up number on it. You will later give this card to the designated person on the platform for your name to be read, so please, carry this card with you. Remaining in alphabetical order is critical to the distribution of diplomas and the taking of photographs. Please do not bring your family or friends with you to the Vagge Gym; send them directly to the tent at the soccer field where they can be seated for the ceremony.

REMEMBER, report to Vagge Gym no later that 10:00 a.m.

PROCESSIONAL - The processional will exit from the Vagge Gym at 10:55 a.m. and proceed to the soccer field. Faculty Marshals will lead the procession across campus to the tent, down the center aisle, and to the seats in front.

ALL SHOULD REMAIN STANDING WHILE THE STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF MARCH IN; THE PLATFORM PARTY TAKES ITS PLACE ON STAGE, AND THE INVOCATION IS DELIVERED.

AWARDING OF DIPLOMAS - At the appropriate time, all MBA degree candidates will be asked to rise and remain standing until the degree is conferred (read) by the President. Then, all MBA degree candidates will sit down except the people in the first row who will be ushered by faculty marshals to the platform to receive their diploma. Row by row, candidates will rise, go out the side aisle, proceed to the platform, and hand their index card to the person at the top of the stairs. When your name is read, walk across the platform to receive your diploma and shake hands with the President, walk down the other side, and return to your seat. (Please be seated when you return to your chair so the audience will be able to see all graduates.) The Associate degree candidates will follow the same instructions as the MBA degree candidates. Bachelor degree candidates will have their degrees conferred after the Associate degree candidates, following the same guidelines.

Professional photographs will be taken as you receive your diploma. Once off the stage, you may move the tassel from the right front quarter to the left front quarter of your cap signaling that you are a graduate.

RECESSIONAL - After final remarks from the President, Faculty Marshals will signal you to stand for the recessional. The platform party will leave the stage first, followed by the faculty. The graduates, led by the faculty marshals, should then proceed down the center aisle of the tent to the College Center concourse between the Learning Resource Center and Student Center.

A congratulatory reception for graduates and their families and friends will be held in the Baddour Library Patio, or if weather is inclement, inside the Student Center. Please join in the celebration.

To ensure the enjoyment and safety of all, alcoholic beverages are not permitted at any time during the line up or during the Commencement ceremony and will be confiscated.

Congratulations to all!
